| I have no idea what I want to study in college, or what college to go to. I do have some time (I'm only a freshman), but I'm still scared. Also, I've been home schooled all my life, so I have no clue what it's like to be in a "real school". I've tryed praying about it, but it hasn't helped! Any advice? | |

You're not the only freshman girl to be worried about college decisions, but my advice is to stop thinking about it altogether! (For now.) Our society has made it seem like you should have your whole life planned out before you turn 15, but I don't think that's God's plan for us. Your interests, dreams, talents, and goals will do a lot of changing in the next couple years, so to make decisions on where to go to school or what to study four years from now is rather pointless. Just enjoy where you are now; you'll have plenty of time to think about college later. Really, you don't have to start looking at schools until the end of your junior year. And even once you make that decision, leave room for God to change your plans! Proverbs 16:9 (CEV) reminds us, "We make our own plans, but the Lord decides where we will go."
As for being home schooled, I have every confidence that you'll do just fine when you go off to "real school." There were a ton of home schooled guys and girls at my college, and they were no different than anyone else... Well, that's not completely true. They were usually a whole lot smarter and more mature than the rest of us! ;o) Hope that helps ease your mind a bit, sis! Love, ![]() |
