Is it wrong to get that fluttery feeling in your stomach whenever there is a guy you like around, or when he hugs you or something? Is that actually liking someone, or is that just being silly?
No, the "fluttery feeling" isn't wrong, but we girls have to be careful that we don't let those giddy emotions go overboard or get away from us. The danger comes when we let those feelings play into our decision-making, or when we let them overrule our better judgment. You can feel butterflies over a guy who doesn't deserve those emotions from you. Part of "guarding your heart" (see Proverbs 4:23) is taking your time deciding whether this guy is worthy of those crush feelings, before you flirt or start telling your friends that you like him. Remember, too, that the feelings you feel (like the butterflies) come from the thoughts you think. So if you find that you shouldn't be crushing on this guy, the only way to get rid of the fluttery feeling is to change the thoughts that you think about him. (Instead of, "Oh, he's so cute," try "He's not the one for me.")

Love,
Jessie
