I'm really sorry that you had to go through such a bad relationship (especially your first one!). It's no wonder you're hurt and afraid of being vulnerable again. Based on that experience, it would be easy for you to believe that 98% of guys are jerks. But I'm more than a little skeptical of that figure. (When it comes to polls, you have to be very careful how the information was gathered.) But even if it
is true, it really doesn't matter because you only need
one guy—the right one!
There are lots of quality guys out there, sis, and God will lead you to the right one when the time is right. In the meantime, it sounds like God wants to help heal your heart from the hurt you went through. I think it's wise for you to take a break from relationships and really focus on becoming the kind of girl who will attract a "diamond in the rough"—a guy who will treat you with the respect you deserve, who will cherish you and protect your heart.
There's no point in worrying that you'll "miss your chance" with a guy because you're being picky. Honestly, if God brings the man you're meant to be with into your life, no one (not even you!) and no thing will be able to stop God's will. Pretty comforting, huh?
God has a bright future in store for you, sis, so don't let Satan convince you to be bitter about the past. Move on and embrace the blessings God has given you today.
Love,
