First, I'm so glad you've chosen to listen to the voice of God
even though it hurts like crazy! Too many girls push His voice aside and pretend they didn't hear it because they're afraid to deal with the hurt of it all.
I know it seems like since you've done what God asked you to do, you should feel
happy rather than
heartbroken! But unfortunately, that's rarely the case—
at first. Nine times out of ten, it takes time before we feel the peace and joy that comes from being in God's will. First we have to battle our flesh: that part of us that still wants to hold on to what was. Even though you've done the right thing, there's a part of your heart that hasn't gotten the memo. ;-) That part of your heart will likely feel sad, lonely, and maybe even question if you made the right choice. Those are natural emotions and will subside eventually. In the meantime, help your heart heal
by focusing on all the benefits of doing what God has asked of you instead of thinking about what you've given up.
I'm proud of you, sis, for choosing the difficult thing instead of the easy way out. I know God will bless you for your obedience. In time your heart will heal completely, and you'll be able to look back on this whole experience and see how God carried you through it.
Love,
