Ask question |
| What did I do wrong to make my dad leave for a new family? | |
|
Sis, it breaks my heart that you even have to ask that question. Divorse is ugly, and God hates it [Malachi 2:16] because the people who get hurt the most are the kids, who didn’t do anything wrong, who don’t deserve the devastation that divorce wreaks on a family.
No matter how tempted you are to blame yourself, I promise you it’s not your fault. Sometime girls will blame themselves because their parents faught about how to raise them or how to discipline them, but the truth is, that’s between Mom and Dad and has nothing to do with the kids. What your dad did is just plain wrong. There’s no excuse for it, and he’ll have to answer to God for his actions. Of course, knowing that probably doesn’t make it any easier on you. The best advice I can give, sis, is to cling to God through the heartache. Take all your dissapointment, hurt, anger, fear—take it all to Him. He’s the only one who can fill the hole your dad left when he chose to leave your family for another. And He’ll never let you down. Love, ![]() |
