If I could answer that question for you, I'd have a lucrative career in fortune telling!
No doubt about it: not knowing is hard, and I think just about every girl struggles (at some point) with the fear that she will never get married. But I think your mom is on the right track, and I'd encourage you to follow her example. When you start to feel those doubts and fears creep in, drop to your knees and pray something like this:
"Lord, you know I have the desire to be married someday. If that is in line with your will, prepare me in this season of singleness to be the best helpmate for my future husband by making me more like your Son, Jesus. And if marriage isn't your perfect will for my life, still make me more like your Son, Jesus, so that I can bring You glory in my contentment."
With a prayer like that, you can't go wrong!
Remember: Until you can be truly content not being in a relationship, you will never be content in a relationship. That’s why 1 Timothy 6:6 (NLT) reminds us, “True godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.”
Love,
